Heads up · The short version: failed crowdfunds and cancelled shows refund automatically. Other disputes go through a 14-day mediation in /admin. Stripe Connect runs the actual money.

This policy covers every kind of refund on Bandwagon — fan pledges, ticket purchases, merch orders, vendor work, sponsorship placements, and band subscriptions. Each has slightly different rules because the underlying transaction is different.

Crowdfund pledges

Crowdfund is all-or-nothing. Your card is authorized at pledge time but not charged until the goal is met.

  • Goal not met by deadline — no charge, ever. Authorization releases within 7 days per your card's rules.
  • Goal met, show happens — pledge charges, no refund (you received what you paid for: a ticket and any tier rewards).
  • Goal met, show cancelled by the band, venue, or external event (weather, force majeure) — auto-refund 100% within 5–7 business days. The platform fee refunds with it.
  • Goal met, show rescheduled within 90 days — your pledge moves automatically to the new date. You can opt out for a refund up to 7 days before the rescheduled date.
  • You changed your mind before the campaign ends — you can withdraw your pledge until 24 hours before the deadline.

Tickets

  • Show cancelled — auto-refund 100% within 5–7 business days.
  • Show rescheduled — ticket moves to the new date. Refund available if you can't make the new date and request within 14 days of the reschedule announcement.
  • You can't make the show (sick, conflict, transit) — refunds are at the venue's discretion. Most venues accept refunds up to 24 hours before doors.
  • You showed up and the venue denied entry for legitimate reasons (intoxication, dress code, capacity at door) — no refund. For illegitimate reasons (discrimination, error) — full refund + we investigate.
  • Lost or duplicate QR — your account holds the master ticket; you can always pull it from /wallet. No refund needed.

Merch

Band-owned merch. The band fulfills, the band sets the refund policy. Most accept returns within 14 days for unworn items. Disputes go through Bandwagon mediation if the band doesn't respond within 7 days.

Platform-print merch. Bandwagon (via Printful) fulfills. Standard policies:

  • Damaged or defective on arrival — full refund or reprint, your choice, within 30 days.
  • Wrong size or wrong item shipped — same as above.
  • You ordered the wrong size and want to swap — exchange available within 14 days, you pay return shipping.
  • You changed your mind on a custom-printed item — generally no refund (items are made on order). Exceptions case-by-case.

Band subscriptions

  • Monthly subscriptions cancel at the end of the current period. No partial-month refunds unless we've materially broken the service.
  • Founding 30 free trial — 6 months free, auto-converts to paid Touring tier. You get a heads-up email 14 days before the conversion date. Cancel before conversion and you're never charged.
  • Annual subscriptions (when we offer them post-launch) are prorated on cancellation if cancelled within 30 days; after that, no refund.
  • If we change the subscription terms in a way that disadvantages you, you can cancel and get a prorated refund of any unused period.

Vendor work

Vendors deliver work per the agreement they accept on Bandwagon. If a vendor doesn't deliver, the band/venue can dispute via /admin → Refund disputes. Bandwagon mediates within 14 days. Resolutions: full refund, partial refund, or denied (with explanation). The platform fee (12%) refunds proportionally.

Sponsorships

Sponsor placements deliver per the package terms (banner, merch insert, emcee shoutout, etc.). If the placement isn't delivered or is materially less prominent than advertised, the sponsor files a dispute. Mediation runs the same as vendor disputes. Refunds prorated based on what was delivered.

Live-stream tickets

  • Stream didn't happen — full refund within 48h.
  • Stream had technical issues from our side (Mux outage, our app broke) — refund or credit, your choice.
  • Stream had issues on your end (your wifi, your device) — no refund; the VOD is still available for 7 days.
  • You bought access but didn't watch — no refund. The VOD is yours for 7 days.

How to request a refund

  • For auto-refund situations — no action needed, it just happens.
  • For everything else — open /me → Settings → Payment methods → Recent transactions → Dispute.
  • Or email support@bandwagon.run with your order ID and reason.
  • Mediation requests are handled within 14 days. Resolutions: refund, partial refund, replacement, or denial with explanation.
  • You can escalate denied refunds via your card issuer's chargeback process, but we ask you to try our mediation first.

Platform fees on refunds

When a refund happens, the platform fee that was originally collected refunds in proportion:

  • Full refund → 100% of fee returned.
  • Partial refund (e.g., 50% based on partial delivery) → 50% of fee returned.
  • Chargebacks won by the customer — fee returned, Bandwagon absorbs Stripe's chargeback fee.
